As Romania’s new Permanent Representative to the United Nations, I take great pleasure in welcoming you to our Mission’s website.

You might know that Romania has had a strong and dynamic relationship with the UN, that has lasted for over 50 years. We are proud to continue the diplomatic tradition and to try to reach the highest professional standards set by the Romanian prominent diplomat Nicolae Titulescu, who was twice the President of the League of Nations – in 1930 and 1931. There are many landmarks of his mandates, such as the Nansen International Office for Refugees or the decision of the Council of the League of Nations to convene the Conference for the Reduction and Limitation of Armaments. His legacy has been an inspiration for many generations of diplomats. The ambassadors who served Romania at the UN always had a great professional and intellectual model to follow!

We fully hope this information and communication tool will help you learn more about our country’s policies, projects and contributions on multilateral diplomacy, especially on the activities carried out within the United Nations in New York.
