Comanescu: Honorary consuls – bridging point with countries which they represent in Romania

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lazar Comanescu, evaluates the institution of honorary consuls as a diplomatic bridging point and inter-human relationship with countries which they represent in Romania, but also a development and promotion vector of bilateral economic relations.

On Friday, Comanescu attended the meeting of honorary consuls from Romania, organised by the MFA in collaboration with Association of Honorary Consuls Union from Romania.

According to a release, in the meeting's opening, the official addressed the honorary consuls a message of confidence in the Romanian economy performance and endorsed the intensification of contacts between business representatives from Romania and those from countries that honorary consuls represent.

The Association of Honorary Consuls Union in Romania (AUCOR) was founded in June 2015 as an NGO (23 founding members), the goal being that of promoting and encouraging the specialist partnerships and social projects of common interest for the honorary consuls in Romania. The AUCOR President is Andreas Huber, honorary consul of Austria in Sibiu.
