Francophone event on the responsibility to protect, organized by the Romanian Mission

 The Romanian Mission hosted, on 27 March 2009, the seminar „The Francophonie, human rights and the responsibility to protect”, as part of the series dedicated to the International Day of the Francophonie. The event took place under the aegis of the working group on „Democracy, Rule of Law and Human Rights” within the francophone movement in New York, coordinated by Romania. Prof. Mario Bettati, adviser to the French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, and Prof. Iulia Motoc, member of the UN Committee on Human Rights – active figures in the field of humanitarian and international law – were the special guests of the seminar, opened by the Romanian Ambassador to the UN, Simona Miculescu.
