Amb. Simona Miculescu receives “Women Who Make a Difference” Award

New York, Nov 4 /Romanian Mission/ - On November 3rd, the Permanent Representative of Romania to the UN, Amb. Simona Miculescu received the “Women Who Make a Difference” Award, distinction granted by the NGO Committee on the Status of Women.

The award presented with the occasion of the Women Ambassador’s Luncheon pays tribute to the "outstanding leadership, profound commitment and exceptional contribution toward the advancement of the status of women”, as an honor and salute for the “accomplishments in the UN, international community and the world".

Background information

The NGO Committee on the Status of Women was established in 1972 and has over 200 members representing international and national NGOs, in consultative status with the United Nations, fostering dialogue between NGOs and the Member States on issues that impact the rights and well-being of women and girls.
